For more than 20 years, Suzanne Lovell has been practicing the art of interior design. She trained in architecture and is widely recognized as an expert in art, antiques, textiles and furnishings. Prior to working as an architect for Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, she studied with Olivio Ferrari, a Bauhaus trained, Swiss-German architect where the focus of craft was paramount to the profession. Her extensive travels have exposed her to design and craftspeople from across the globe, lending her work a multicultural influence. Ms. Lovell has long been respected for the intelligent integration of architectural interiors with sophisticated furnishings, textiles and art.

She is principal of Suzanne Lovell Inc, a Chicago-based architectural interior design firm specializing in residential interior architecture, design and decoration. Her vast portfolio of work has not gone unnoticed as Suzanne has been featured in a variety of publications and continues to be honored as one of "The AD 100" by Architectural Digest magazine. Suzanne recently opened a Manhattan studio.

In addition, Suzanne's latest business venture is the formation of Twill Textiles. Along with Sam Kasten, one of America's foremost hand weavers of custom fabrics and rugs, Ms. Lovell launched a sophisticated line of mill produced fabrics that resonate with the look and feel of handmade product. Suzanne is now able to weave together her passion for craft as well as her design background, architectural skill and business acumen, to create a luxurious textile collection. Her intention for the growth of Twill is to showcase textiles influenced by weaving traditions from a variety of global cultures.

Ms. Lovell resides in Chicago with her husband and two children. Fly fishing and bicycling take her on adventures around the world that lend directly to her designs through color, texture, proportion and scale.
